What a gem! And owner could not be nicer! All rooms totally renovated with handsome modern flooring and headboard, great, sparking clean and stylish bathroom (love that cool sink and awesome countertop), comfy new beds, microwave and mini fridge, pull out desk. Just outside of Woodstock village itself, directly across road from Ottauquechee River. At night, the only sound is the quiet rushing river – talk about relaxing! What I love about these roadside motels especially these days is that you have a floor-through unit with openable windows in front and back for a lovely breeze (and given Covid, airing out a place is important). The mote’s office is full of such cool stuff from the motel’s history including original signs, the actual front grille to a 1958 (I think) car embedded in the front desk (!), original postcards from the motel’s past, and lots of original artwork. Owner was fantastic – super friendly, and recommended the perfect place to us – Max’s Tavern in Barnard. We highly recommend the place!

I was in Woodstock, VT for a family get together. I was looking for a place that was nice, reasonably priced, quiet and that would allow me to bring my dog. Sleep Woodstock has rooms specifically set aside for those bringing a dog and also dog free rooms (nice if you have allergies). It fit the bill. The rooms were lovely, very clean and attractive with great art. The bathroom was pristine. The kitchen had a coffee maker (and plenty of coffee & creamers), a small fridge & microwave. There’s a great diner next door that opens early. Great breakfasts. Great pie and an ice cream window. (There were also healthier options at the diner as well.) It was easy to reach the staff anytime, which was usually the owners. I’ll be sure to return.

Two of us stayed at Sleep Woodstock as an overnight between jobs and the motel suited us perfectly. The room was clean and nicely outfitted with a fridge, freezer and microwave. The decor harkens back to old style motor inns before they all became large chains. There were many little pieces of art on the wall, which gave the room a lovely homey feel. The service was top notch. The proprietors were friendly, accommodating and responsive. The office seemed to be staffed all day and into the evening. It was small but there was even a nice assortment of snacks and sundries. Critical for us, some of the rooms are pet friendly.
