Ramunto’s Brick & Brew

Ramunto’s Brick & Brew is a great place to unwind with family & friends in a relaxed unique atmosphere and enjoy the best pizza and fresh foods in Vermont. Enjoy their many widescreen TV’s and a family-friendly game room with darts, pool and air hockey, and more.

Ramunto’s Brick & Brew is located in the historic Bridgewater Mill. The Bridgewater Mill Mall stands at the center of town and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1825, this woolen textile mill once processed fine wool from the 9,000-plus sheep that dotted the landscape. During World War I and World War II, uniforms and blankets for soldiers were made here.

Ramunto’s pizza crust is famous for being crisp yet chewy and full of flavor—think New York City and we don’t say that lightly being New Yorkers ourselves. They achieve that consistent flavor by making their dough fresh, every day. They also mix their own sauce using vine-ripened tomatoes and a secret blend of herbs & spices. Their cheese is 100% whole milk mozzarella, shredded in-house to ensure freshness and moisture content. Custom-tailor your own pie, or choose from a list of outrageously creative and delicious Specialty Pies on the menu.

The same holds true for their Calzones; you’re only limited by your imagination and your taste buds. Fresh produce is the only way to go, and their salads are full of fresh veggies at an unbelievable value. Their Wings—we promise you will not find better. Creative appetizers complement their great selection of microbrews on tap, including a seasonal selection from the Long Trail Brewing Company. They carry a Full Bar and a simple but selective wine list.

Angkor Wat Restaurant

Chy Tuckerman, chef, and owner, was born and raised until the age of 14 in Cambodia. During the end of the war with the Khmer Rouge, his family was split up into refugee camps in Thailand. Eventually, Chy and his brother were brought to America. Both boys were sent to Portland Oregon and later Chy moved to New Hampshire with a Cambodian family he was acquainted with. After moving to NH he met and befriended Robert O’Hara who would teach him the art of baking. After Mr. O’Hara’s death, he took over as part-owner of Blacksmith Bakery.

In 1997 he moved to Woodstock, VT where he baked at the local Mountain Creamery for a little over 10 years.

Chy has a wealth of experience cooking in many different styles, among his favorites is authentic Asian cuisine. Some of you may have already experienced one of his favorites, the spring roll. Chy has spent the last three years perfecting his menu which fuses together some of his Cambodian and Thai favorites with his own unique flavors.

Shopping/Things to Do

Plymouth Artisan Cheese

Plymouth Artisan Cheese is a Vermont company that produces artisanal raw cow’s milk cheeses with milk received from a single local herd that they continually monitor for quality. All of their milk comes from a farm that engages in the best dairy practices and humane treatment of their livestock. Only the finest and freshest milk goes into our cheeses. They are also dedicated to the ideas and philosophies of the slow food movement; knowing where your food comes, how it is made, and to the preservation of the working landscapes of Vermont. Your patronage will help ensure that future.

Their line of granular curd cheeses are true American heritage cheeses made to the same exacting recipe that the first European settlers brought with them to the New World.

History
The Plymouth Cheese factory is one of the oldest cheese enterprises in the United States – producing high quality and distinctive artisan cheeses for over 124 years. The factory still occupies the same site and building as it did when it was started in 1890 in Plymouth, Vermont by John Coolidge, father of Calvin Coolidge, the 30th President of the United States.

When John Coolidge sited his cheese factory in Plymouth, Vermont, Plymouth Cheese as we know it today was born. The Plymouth Cheese Factory operated until 1934 when the factory was closed due to a milk shortage caused the the Great Depression.

As of 2009, Jesse Werner is the new cheese maker and steward of this cheese making tradition. He has once again started making Plymouth Cheese to the same exacting standards that such a pedigreed American heritage cheese demands.
