Ten Years of Special Olympics Vermont in Woodstock

March 3-5 will mark the tenth consecutive year that Special Olympics Vermont will have held its winter on snow event in Woodstock.

SOVt is part of a global movement committed year round to foster acceptance and inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities by using the power of sport to showcase their gifts and abilities.

Hundreds of athletes, family members, supporters and volunteers will converge on the community starting Friday the 3rd. Once again the winter games will be headquartered at the Woodstock Inn and at the Suicide Six Ski Area in South Pomfret.

For over four decades SOVt has provided activities in summer and winter with sports opportunities which “give participants opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendships with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.” continue reading

Sleep Woodstock is proud and honored to host, for the second year, 1 dozen participants. This is a special group of indidviduals who work harder and competed harder than anyone we know.
